Village of BS –Livable Communities Plan
We recognize the importance of preserving and maintaining the unique character of the village. The Livable Communities Plan was developed as part of the township-wide comprehensive plan. In addition to the Township’s involvement, a sub-committee of the Boiling Spring Civic Association was formed to pursue objectives and development designs with the intent to make the village better while preserving its overall character and heritage.
The Livable Communities Plan outlines areas to make future improvements and development plans:

-Greenway and Trail Connection development

Town Square Project
Currently, the village does not have a designated “town square or center”. There are plans in place to create a town square in the village at the intersection of Front Street/SR 2037 Forge Road and SR 0174/First Street. This town square shall serve as a central focal point for the community, a space for public events, as well as a center for retail and business life. You may have noticed some work already complete at the location of the Lakeside Food Mart. Stay tuned for more news on the development and establishment of a town square in the coming year. This project is set to take place at the time of construction for the lake rehabilitation and improvement project.
Market Research and Feasibility Study
In 2018, South Middleton Township commissioned a comprehensive Market Research and Feasibility Study for the village and surrounding area. The purpose of the plan is to identify new business opportunities and guidance for investment and redevelopment of Boiling Springs. The plan was the culmination of in depth research and was developed based on stakeholder interviews, demographic assessment and trend analyses, quantitative and qualitative surveys, competitive assessment, and demand model and estimates, along with recommendations. The plan also identified and highlighted high-potential properties for redevelopment.
